Valve Box Placement and Color

I recently traveled to Cleveland OH, and while walking down town I couldn't help but notice these irrigation valve boxes in the middle of the sidewalk!! This is a great way to ruin a new project - every box sticks out like a sore thumb.

I couldn't help but laugh as this is SO typical for the irrigation industry....it's no wonder we sometimes get a bad wrap.

1. These should be concrete boxes.
2. These should br located off to the side.
3. OR - bricks should be cut thin to 'cover' the boxes.
4. There are at least 10-15 boxes! What a mess.

Controller Protection from Vandalism

Sometimes it may be a good idea to protect your irrigation controller from vandalism. The following Baseline controller is located inside a baseball batting arena - the cage is designed to protect against bats & balls.
